Elon Musk's mother May on the show "Today with Hoda and Jenna" told what her son was like as a child. She noted that Elon Musk has always been a genius, but not everyone saw it.

"Because he was shy, they didn't see the genius. But I was the only person he had to talk to, and that's why I knew about that, because he would reason with me and remember everything that was going on," she said.
