Medvedchuk's wife urges captured UK troops' relatives to initiate a prisoner swap
Today, April 16, Oksana Marchenko posted a video message on Youtube. The wife of arrested Ukrainian opposition politician Viktor Medvedchuk is trying to use every opportunity to free her husband.
Marchenko appealed to the families and friends of British nationals Aiden Aslin and Shaun Pinner. She proposed to swap her husband for the two British fighters who reportedly surrendered to Russian and Donbass forces in Mariupol earlier this week.
"I call on the families and friends of British citizens Aiden Eslin and Sean Pinner, captured by the Russian Federation and the DPR: Eslyn Angele, Nathan and Shannon Wood, Derby and Eyvan Pinner.
It is in your power to ask the Prime Minister of your country, Boris Johnson, to influence the Ukrainian leadership and obtain the release of Aiden and Sean by exchanging them for the Ukrainian opposition politician detained by the Kyiv authorities, my husband Viktor Medvedchuk," Oksana Marchenko said in video.
